A senior member of the Finks bikie gang has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in an early-morning accident.
NSW Police on Wednesday morning said a motorcyclist had died near Cessnock, in the Hunter Valley, around 4am.
Reports suggested he had hit a barrier and was flung off the Harley Davidson bike, his body located a short distance from the wrecked bike.
On Thursday, he was identified as Bodie Dwyer, the president of the Tamworth City chapter of the Finks.
Tributes and balloons have been left near the intersection at Bellbird where he died.
“I’m so speechless I actually just don’t want to believe it,” a tribute on Facebook read.
“You were such an amazing person whenever you were around it was always a good time.
“We may have had our fair shares of ups and downs but at the end of the day I knew you’d always have my back.
“My heart is broken, love you my darling, rest in paradise.”
Police said Dwyer was flung from the bike near the intersection of Wollombi Rd and Kendall St.
Passersby and paramedics attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.
